Obra en proceso que explora el tinte  Palo de Campeche,  también conocido como, ek,  palo de tinte, logwood y hematoxylum campechianum y su uso en los laboratorios de patología. La simbología del color morado  en movimientos feministas se resignifica para examinar  la patologización de la transexualidad por el sistema psiquiátrico y médico. Revelando los tintes naturales como repositorios  que colaboran en la construcción de nociones de los cuerpos.

Work in progress that explores the dye Palo de Campeche, also known as logwood, ek, palo de tinte, and hematoxylum campechianum, and its use in pathology labs. The symbology of the color purple in feminist movements is resignified to examine the patoglogization of transness by the psychiatric and medical systems.  Revealing natural dyes as repositories that aid in the notions of bodies.

Renata Escamilla Vivian (b.2001) grew up in Estado de México and Mérida, Yucatán. Their family upbringing  in México informs their interest in the domestic space as a place that produces notions of femeninity, which they investigate through archives, fibers, installation and performance.

They recently graduated from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
